Abstract :
Highly authoritative and consecutive, the annual Government´s Work Report to some degree can be viewed as a public self-performance appraisal of the government itself. It is undoubtedly a patterned institutional arrangement for appraisal of China´s government performance which is still at its experimental stage. This article makes a comprehensive analysis and comparison of the government reports by 31 governments at provincial, regional and municipal levels, and finds that the statistics and writing made for the purpose of the appraisal of the government´s performance need improving, a few indexes need fine tuning, and other possible indexes point to the need for further study.
