Abstract :
The paper considers an odd-degree band-pass filter with a single real-frequency attenuation pole and one pair of complex-frequency transmission zeros. The design is particularly suitable for single-sideband selection. For stated phase and amplitude specs, it results in a low degree of complexity, in comparison with conventional band-pass filters having an even number of transmission zeros. An approximate synthesis procedure, based on a fictitious low-pass prototype network, is reported in the paper. Experimental results are described too.
