Abstract :
The use of spaceborne multifrequency microwave radiometer data to obtain important parameters of global snow cover over land is demonstrated. With the help of an interactive image display system we have optimized the retrieval algorithms for snow extent and snow melt, in addition the snow water equivalent can be determined for dry snow of depth < 50 cm.
