Abstract
A prototype radar target simulator is described possessing features essential for testing frequency-agile and coherent systems. A high speed frequency tracking unit is described and measured performance limitations discussed. A variable range simulator using surface acoustic wave devices is assessed and shown to be suitable for coherent applications. A brief discussion of velocity and angle simulation is made.
