  • Abstract
    In this paper, reflection characteristics of a high- impedance surface composed of 2D balanced CRLH metamaterials without a forbidden frequency band are studied experimentally. Even without a bandgap, in-phase reflection phenomena are observed near the balanced Gamma-point frequency as opposed to a conventional high-impedance surface with a bandgap. In addition, multiple in-phase reflections are also observed for oblique incidence cases by bistatic radar cross section measurements.
