Abstract
Design and construction related issues associated with the installation of a single mode 72-fiber, fiber optic system on Roseville Electric´s 60 kV transmission line network is presented. Design and construction issues encountered during the installation of the fiber optic system for the City of Roseville are presented. Specific components of the project are developed in separate sections as points of discussion. It is hoped that others contemplating similar projects on their respective systems will benefit. Topics include clearances to all dielectric self-supporting (ADSS) cables as an underbuild on steel and wood poles; primary and secondary channels; sag coordination with power conductors; and ADSS cable attachment methods.
