Abstract :
A fast defuzzification method for hardware realizations of fuzzy inference algorithms is presented. Processing time as well as power dissipation are significantly reduced by an adaptive integration of the output possibility distribution. In addition to that, a user-programmable resolution of the output variables is achieved. The new method has been implemented on the 8-bit Fuzzy Coprocessor SAE 81C99
