Abstract :
Energy consumption is one of the active research areas in wireless communication due to the limited battery attached to mobile devices. This paper describes an energy efficient network architecture for infrastructured wireless networks. The contributions of this paper are the study of a distributed localized algorithm for constructing Voronoi diagram followed by a network architecture based on Voronoi diagrams. This architecture is not only energy efficient but also has lower latency and higher throughput. In addition, it provides the benefits of randomization and scalability to the network. The simulation work has been carried out using network simulator (ns2.28) and the results consolidate our claim.
