On the Notion and Extension of Enterprise Intellectual Property Capability

The current capacity of enterprise intellectual property has been greatly attached importance to. However, the existing research on their definition of the meaning is still inadequate. On the basis of a distinction between resource and capability, this paper suggests, the enterprise intellectual property capability should be defined as cumulative knowledge. From the extension of capacity of enterprise intellectual property, this paper considers that we should pay attention to the role of intellectual property capability in enterprise capability, and in fact, it has been a component element of enterprise capability. On the other hand, the essence of enterprise technological capability is also defined as knowledge, and we found there is a positive relationship between enterprise technological capability and enterprise intellectual property capability, to some extent, they both belong to enterprise capability system. In a word, this paper believe that we could get a better perspective on the central role of enterprise intellectual property capability by having a clear recognition of its notion, and then, it is of great practical value and positive role for the development of enterprises.
