Abstract :
A novel, unified and rigorous computational approach to the frequency dependent characterization of thinfilm MIC components is described. It provides an accurate, reliable data basis for the generation of microwave and millimeter-wave CAD circuit models which has not been available up to now. The approach discussed is applicable to planar structures fabricated in trip late, microstrip, slot- and fin-line, suspended-substrate, coplanar-line and even mixed type thinfilm technology. Its characteristic features and the way it is employed for CAD purposes are outlined. Some new numerical results concerning simple planar one- and two-port structures are presented here, as far as printing space restriction allows, and in the associated poster session.
