Abstract
A new method to measure heart rate, respiration and body movements without attaching a measuring device to the subjects is proposed. It is a kind of ballistocardiograph that uses optical fibers and measure changes of transmitted light intensity in an optical fiber induced by the stress-optical effect caused by the ballistocardiogram.
