Abstract :
To solve the problems of poor stability and real-time capability of the current substation RTU monitoring system, the RTU monitoring system based on GPRS and PLC was designed. PLC has the characteristics of powerful function, easy operation and strong reliability, so its application can cover almost all areas of industrial control. In order to know all the equipments´ real time running and alarm information in distance, GPRS intelligent wireless data transfer unit (DTU) can be installed to PLC, thus effectively avoiding a large variety of issues caused by the cable transmit alarm data, resulting in the achievement of upgrading and optimizing monitoring system.
