Abstract :
We investigate the nonlinear propagation of electromagnetic waves in Kerr like left-handed materials. Maxwellpsilas equations for electric and magnetic fields lead naturally within the slowly varying envelope approximation to a nonlinear Schrodinger equations which admits dark and bright soliton solutions. It shows the left and right-handed materials have dark and bright soliton solutions respectively.
