  • Abstract
    A novel meta-structure composed of a dielectric block with a thin metallic rod screwed inside is proposed and the relative electromagnetic response is studied. From the simulated S parameters, equivalent medium parameters are retrieved. Double negative of permittivity and permeability is achieved easily by adjusting the height of rod inside the dielectric block. The loss of such meta-structure is also discussed which is lower than those composed of conventional metallic resonators.
