Abstract :
Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) is among the significant nonlinear effects in single mode optical fibers. SRS degrades wavelength division multiplexed signals due to inter-channel crosstalk and tilt in the gain. Accurate evaluation of SRS effect is required for the efficient design of the Dense Wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) systems. In this paper, the SRS has been evaluated without any assumption and considering pulse walk off effect.
