Abstract
Target maneuvering time constant has an important effect on the performance of interception missiles, but it is not appropriate to make constant and known assumption of this time constant as some literatures did in actual interception scenarios. Because of the above reasons, a novel design method is presented. The shaping filter method is adopted to extend the original system for random maneuvering strategy modeling of target. Based on the extended system, the elemental filters of a multiple model adaptive estimator are constructed to realize the online estimation of the unknown time constant. Compared with the common filters, this design method can realize the estimation of the system states and internal unknown parameters together. The simulation results show that this method can realize the convergence to the true maneuvering time constant for correct guidance law calculations.
