Abstract :
Based on the refinement of two existing techniques, this paper describes the work that introduced region of interest for more accurate fingerprint core point detection. Direction of curvature technique (DC) has been used in coarse core point detection whilst geometry of region (GR) technique is used in the fine finding of the core point. According to the experiment applied to FVC-2002 database, it is found that the technique proposed herewith can improve the identification correctness with slightly better in computation performance.
