PCSCW: P2P-based computer supported cooperative work research

Until recently, most computer and network supported cooperative work systems are based on Web technologies, which is a client-server or centralized network model. The emergence and increasing adoption of peer-to-peer (P2P) offer a potential for the researchers of collaborative technologies, both as an enabling infrastructure and a platform for integration with existing end-user environments. This paper describes a peer-to-peer-based computer supported cooperative work (PCSCW) system that attempts to exploit the potential by extending the P2P to provide a set of basic facilities for collaborative information sharing.
