Abstract :
This paper introduces a multiband spectrum sensing technique that deploys nonuniform stratified sampling to perform reliable sensing using sampling rates well below the ones demanded by uniform-sampling-based DSP. Reliability guidelines are provided to ensure the credibility of the detection method amid a sought system performance. It is demonstrated that stratified sampling can be implemented in practice with finite resources two interleaved analogue to digital converters suffice. This is a clear advantage over previously reported nonuniform sampling schemes e.g. total random sampling where an arbitrary number of its samples can be arbitrarily close.
