Abstract :
Ellipse is an important feature curve usually used in image analysis, computer graphics and computer aided geometric design. In this paper, we propose a new ellipse fitting method using data normalization. Prior to the ellipse fitting, a linear normalization transformation is used to preprocess the original data. The normalization transformation can increase the computation stability in solving the linear equation system. Experiments show this method is effective.
