Abstract :
Mortality rates in Russia are very high as compared to those in developed countries, particularly among men. The study was performed as a part of international investigation "Epidemiological study of the causes of the dramatic fall in life expectancy in Russia". Standard protocol was used for the study. A total of 38059 persons who died in 1990-2001 was planned to study during a population survey in Tomsk.
