Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present an analytical approach to fault level regulation of power systems during operation planning. A network reconfigurator expands the capabilities of fault level constrained optimal power flow as an operation planning tool, using network switching actions as remedial actions for violated constraints. Special care was taken during implementation, so that the method can be applied on large-scale systems with thousands of buses and lines, hundreds of fault current constraints and available remedial actions. The reconfigurator was tested on the South Korean Power System and was proven to be robust and efficient in providing solutions.
