Abstract :
This paper proposes a control strategy for series hybrid electric city bus driving on fixed route. The control strategy consists of two parts: dynamic programming (off-line) and fuzzy logic (on-line). Based on real dates of the NO.600 bus recorded by data logger, an average driving cycle is calculated. The optimum power distribution between engine-generator unit and battery unit adequate for the average driving cycle is obtained by DP (dynamic programming). Based on fuzzy logic strategy, the power distribution is modified in real time when the bus drives on its route. The simulation results show that the fuel consumption can be reduced effectively with this control strategy compared to conventional power track control strategy.
