Abstract :
Integration of structural and semantic information in a model of a complex object is a very important step in the design of a multimedia database. We propose a control structure for different objects comprising a single multimedia document. We have developed a typology of the relations between disjointed objects in order to construct generic classes of complex objects. A single control structure is integrated in the composition of the object. This implementation of a control mechanism is based on the concept of ECA rules. We propose a multimedia database model based on the composition of objects
