Abstract :
-Wind tunnel testing is the effective method to research high speed train aerodynamics. It is one of the key steps to ascertain the model scale for wind tunnel testing, because scaled model is always introduced into wind tunnel testing, due to the huge body. Based on the structure of aerodynamic and aero-acoustic wind tunnel, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), focus on middle car of three connected vehicles, the force variation principle of 1/8, 1/7, 1/6 scaled models were calculated. By researching the 3-D force variation principle of the middle car in different yawing angle, it is certain that in the case of head orientation, the force variation principle of three scaled models is similar and that 1/6 scaled model is more adapt for force testing of middle car of three connected vehicles.
