Abstract
First experimental results for a short range millimeterwave imaging system are reported, which uses four homodyne receivers positioned along a linear aperture in order to get azimuthal resolution. The radial distance is additionally evaluated by switching between two frequencies in analogy to the Doppler diplex radar [1]. The method results in an effective imaging system, which allows the position of point scatterers to be on-line determined with high accuracy. The fundamentals of the method were proposed and verified in [2]. The angular accuracy and resolution capabilities were discussed in [3]. This paper concentrates on the determination of the radial distance and the performance of the complete system.
