Abstract :
IBM Transaction Processing Facility (TPF) information development (ID) has implemented concept of team writing. Each writer is responsible for several publications and several line items. As a publication "owner", the writer is responsible for the organization, format, contents, and schedule. As an ID line-item "owner", the writer updates all the publications in the TPF library that relate to the specific line item. The updates are done with the approval of the publication "owner". To make this process work successfully, writers must see themselves as members of several teams - the information development department and the line-item teams. The team also consists of TPF developers, testers, service support, and market support personnel. The organization of the library, contents, and timing, are all driven by the needs of the customer. Team writing is a dynamic concept that puts the decision making with the writing team
