Abstract :
A 16 GHz microwave radar for the measurement of aeolian vibrations on power transmission lines has been developed. It is an FM CW radar and can measure the vibrations at the frequency range 0...50 Hz with amplitudes over 20 ¿m. A small corner reflector can be attached to the conductor for determining the measuring point. Experimental results obtained by the radar are in good correlation with the results obtained using an accelerator transducer.
