Abstract :
The performance of the RED algorithm depends on the variation of network traffic load. Furthermore, the queue length of the router is sensitive to the parameters configured in the RED algorithm. To address these weaknesses, this paper presents an algorithm called fuzzy self-tuning PD-RED by using the fuzzy control and proportional derivative control theory. The simulation results successfully show that the proposed algorithm has the advantages over other existing improved RED algorithm of rapid response and fairness, which can maintains target queue length.
