Abstract
A comprehensive mapping of Rayleigh wave (SAW) properties (velocities, temperature effects, electromechanical coupling factors, power flow angles, reflection coefficients) has been carried out for Gallium Orthophosphate (GaPO4), a piezoelectric material of the same crystalline 32-class as quartz. It is shown that several temperature-compensated cuts exist, and that maximum electro-mechanical coupling factors are 4 times higher than (ST,X) quartz. Experimental SAW velocities and temperature effects measured on devices built on singly-rotated plates are also reported
