Abstract
The integration of wireless and location technologies into Telematics products is growing rapidly. Therefore, the demand for concepts like Software Defined Radio (SDR) is increasing. SDR has the potential to realize cost-effective, re-programmable, and multi-standard Telematics products. This paper provides an overview of Telematics, SDR challenges and tiers for Telematics, and signal processing choices and challenges for SDR in Telematics.
