Abstract :
A novel, 2 ps fibre laser operating in Yb-wavelength range with 60 kW peak and 9 W average powers is demonstrated. Pulses from a self-starting, ring-fibre-cavity Yb oscillator with spectral gain/pulse-duration control were amplified in 1.4 m-long, Yb-doped fiber.
