Abstract :
GUI is an interface system in which the users can control directly visible objects and actions to replace complex command syntax. It can display graphic output directly from a database in a nontechnical and user-friendly way. The Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER) has experienced a graphic-controlled interface for many years, and has developed several applications for nuclear power plants. TIRM (Taipower Integrated Risk Monitor) is an integrated risk monitoring system developed for TPC (Taiwan Power Company) by the INER. It has combined the probabilistic risk assessment model and other plant support systems into GUI tools. By using the TIRM, plant managers can precisely capture the plant configuration and apply the PRA results precisely to work schedule and administration. This paper focuses on the system design of the shutdown TIRM. The verification and validation of the TIRM for Maanshan NPP is also demonstrated.
