Abstract :
In this paper, the design and construction of a simple and easily controlled inverter together with a modified commercially available induction motor to be used in highspeed operation are described. The preliminary measurement results indicate, as expected, that the losses at higher speeds increase. The main reasons for this are assumed to be hysteresis-losses, eddy-currents and skin effect, all frequency related.
