Abstract :
An articulated phase insulator is a new type one, which can avoid the evident hard spots coming from device type neutral sections. Now, articulated phase insulators have been applied in most of high-speed lines in the world. The paper introduces the 7-span articulated phase insulator, mainly to analyse the causes of the over-voltages, calculates the over-voltage of the insulator, makes simulation of the over-voltage and provides a protection of the over-voltage, advance and analysis for improve on articulated phase insulator at last.
