Abstract :
Simple mass-spring model is often used as the model of complex turbine-generator shaft when simulating subsynchronous oscillation (SSO). However, this model cannot precisely describe torsional vibration characteristics of turbine-generator shaft. For estimating the effect of shaft model on subsynchronous oscillation, simple mass-spring model of uncertain parameters was used in this paper. The AC-DC hybrid power system model was put up by using PSCAD/EMTDC. Subsynchronous damping controller (SSDC) was designed to damp subsynchronous oscillation and the effect of shaft parameters variation on SSDC was analyzed. The probabilistic collocation method was applied to research the validity of SSDC when considering shaft parameter uncertainty.
