Abstract :
The development of coalbed methane (CBM) resource is very important for coal production safety, environmental protection and energy efficiency improvement. CO2-ECBM is an emerging technology for CBM development. In order to study the mechanisms of CO2-ECBM, a new type of equipment was designed. Many comparison experiments between natural depressurization method and CO2 injection method were conducted. The factors influencing gas production were studied experimentally. Experiments show that the ultimate CBM recovery factor by CO2 injection method is higher than that of natural depressurization method. The recovery factor of methane displaced by CO2 is related to the CO2 injection pressure.
