Abstract :
This paper outlines the setup of RDAC, a reconfigurable distribution automation and control laboratory for undergraduate and graduate electrical engineering education at Drexel University. The physical design of the electrical hardware of a 7 kW, three-phase distribution system is described. The paper also details component testing and the analysis of test results that directly affect the system design. Experiments were performed, also, to determine parameters of the network equipment, such as distribution lines, resistive loads, and induction motors.
