Abstract
A novel control model for Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) is developed. In the model input is the delay angle, and the inductor current is chosen as output. In consideration of special characteristics of the model, an improved Model Algorithmic Control (IMAC) scheme is proposed by adding a differential term of output prediction deviation into a cost function. The model developed was verified by simulation studies for a series compensated radial system. Simulation studies showed the satisfactory effects in a sense of overshoot and settling time of the control system when fMAC is applitd to the system.
