Abstract :
This paper presents a new method of energy management in television set. The method keeps TV screen active only if someone is watching it. When no viewer is present in front of the camera, the TV screen is dimmed to save power while keeping the audio ON. Experiments show that the method can reduce the TV power consumption significantly especially when TV set is left ON unwatched.
