Abstract :
In this paper a method is presented for the determination of the propagation tion properties for the general case of finlines with cross sectional structures. On the one hand this method allows a realistic description of the finlines because it also considers the secondary effects such as the influence of the thickness of the metallization and of the substrate grooves on the propagation constants. On the other hand it allows the calculation of different cross sectional structures even if they are partly filled with isotropic or gyrotropic media. The wave constants of the finlines are calculated by means of integral elgenvalue equations generated for the interfaces. Several examples will illustrate the applicability of the described method.
