Abstract :
In this paper, we focus on treatment scheduling for patients at emergency department in hospitals. Scheduling and coordinating patients at emergency department is faced with a high amount of complexity due to the inherent dynamics of the processes and the distributed organizational structure of hospitals. To this end, our multi-agent system ED-MAS is presented, in which patients and emergency department human resources are represented as autonomous agents who are able to react flexible to changes and disturbances (e.g. emergencies and complications) through pro-activeness and reactiveness. For scheduling, our three phase reactive scheduling algorithm 3P-RSA is described, in which the scheduler agents assign each medical task to the required medical staff whose skills are needed.
