Abstract
Previously published equivalent circuit representations of parallel-coupled lines in an inhomogeneous medium are very complicated, and quite unsuitable for application in distributed filter synthesis. This defect is remedied in this paper by re-synthesizing the circuits in a new and physically meaningful form. The new theory is applied to the synthesis of an inhomogeneous distributed high-pass filter, which is realized in suspended substrate stripline.
