Abstract
This paper presents the analysis of a conformal rectangular microstrip antenna loaded with human tissue, for microwave hyperthermia applications using the finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD) in cylindrical coordinates. FDTD is used in order to calculate the reflection coefficient and the near electromagnetic fields radiated by the microstrip antenna. Then the specific absorption rate (SAR) is calculated within a biological tissue; SAR is directly related to the temperature distribution within tumour masses
