Abstract
The paper deals with a new method for realizing predistortion networks which can compensate with high accuracy for nonlinear amplitude and phase distortions caused by TWT and GaAs FET microwave power amplifiers. The method is based on a digital generation of the nominal nonlinear predistortion characteristics. After discussing the nonlinear behaviour of microwave power amplifiers and the requirements on predistortion networks, the method and a realized predistortion network are described. Measurement results show its compensation capabilities.
