Abstract :
An equal split (3dB) Wilkinson Power Divider (WPD) based on left-handed transmission lines at 2GHz is designed. By implementation of Left-Handed Transmission Lines (LHTLs) instead of conventional Right-Handed Transmission Lines (RHTLs) at input and output branches of Wilkinson power divider, compactness, broadening of operational frequency band and functionality enhancement has been achieved. The simulated results for various parameters like return loss, isolation and insertion loss have been presented. Over the proposed frequency of 2GHz, bandwidth of 2GHz, 1.35GHz and 600MHz at return loss of -10dB, -20dB and -30dB respectively are achieved. A comparative analysis of proposed and conventional design shows that a 52.58% reduction in size and 40.7% increase in bandwidth at -20dB return loss is achieved.
