Abstract :
Cell coverage analysis is an important task of mobile network optimization, but there is dearly insufficient in the accuracy, validity and visualization in current analytical methods and tools. This paper presents a multi-factor analysis method of cell coverage, and realizes the relevant system based on GIS platform. Based on a huge number of mobile measured data, this method derives a cell coverage analysis chart and determines the cell which have coverage problems by analyzing factors such as downlink signal level, sample points of CIR, neighborhood relationship, azimuth and distance between two cells. This method and system are proved by a large number of actual data tests of an in-service GSM network. Compared to the traditional cell over coverage analysis method, this method and system has advantages in accuracy, timeliness, and visualization.
