Abstract :
Summary form only given. A seagoing data acquisition system based on a pair of minicomputers, an array processor, a 64-channel scanning analog-to-digital converter, and programmable antialiasing filters is described. The two computers are linked through Decnet using Ethernet hardware. Options include wavenumber frequency processing and frequency-domain beamforming. Processed data are presented on color graphics terminals and eight-color plotters. Optional displays are contours, three-dimensional surfaces, and colorized gray-scale plots. Also available are individual power spectra, phase and coherence pairs, and steered beam power spectra. Data are stored at sea on optical disk cartridges
