Abstract
An analytical procedure for frequency planning of generic cellular systems is presented, with a straightforward application for digital systems. Two matrices are defined, i.e., the adjoining matrix (for adjoining cells), and the frequency matrix (for frequencies allocation to the cells). Properties of adjoining matrices are established. A special matrix production operation is defined in such a way that the resulting matrix gives the distance in channels between any combination of cells, and immediately shows critical situations, where adjoining cells have adjacent frequency channels. Different results are presented for some typical cell patterns, showing the usefulness of the method
