Abstract :
According to the character of turning vibration of common lathe CA6140 and the rheological behavior of magnetorheological (MR) fluid, a magnetorheological (MR) damper was developed. Meanwhile, software ANSYS was utilized to testify the rationality of key dimensions and magnetic circuits. Also, the software and hardware system of turning experiments of vibration suppression were set up. The experimental results indicate that MR damper is effective in terms of suppression of turning vibration.
